History of IPL
IPL (Indian Premier League) was founded in 2008 after India won the T20 world cup which was held for the first time. India defeated most rival team Pakistan in the finals. Before IPL was started ZEE entertainment started the ICL Indian Cricket league. ICL was not under the recognition of neither BCCI (Board of Cricket Council India) nor ICC (International Cricket Council). So they strictly warned every player not to join ICL. And yet after that, they started a tournament with Lalit Modi named Indian Premier League. The start of the tournament meant as the bids were at 400 million per owner and the names would be after that city or state. The eight cities were selected and could afford the pricing of the franchise. And it would help every player to create revenue.
